November Favorites

Just like every other blogger and person on the planet, I am feeling awfully overwhelmed yet not surprised that December is rolling right around the corner. Life just doesn’t want to slow down but I can’t say I’m too bummed about December being here because that means holiday movies, cute decorations, the smell of the Christmas tree, and all things festive. And come on, who doesn’t love this time of year?! With the end of a month brings a monthly favorites post, as per usual.

For makeup this month I have been into all things lip related. I think it’s because literally every inch of my body is suffering from dryness and I like to keep my lips the most moisturized. I have been using the Eos in Strawberry almost daily to hydrate my lips; it’s my favorite other than the Sweet Mint from this brand. I also use my Lush Lip Scrub about once a week to exfoliate my lips and remove any gross flakes and dead skin from the surface. During school days I still find myself reaching towards the NYX Lingerie lipsticks. They just wear so nicely that I can’t get enough of them.

It’s also officially bootie season which makes me so happy. I have been wearing my black Steve Madden booties and these brown Chelsea UGG’s. They are just too cute and pair so nicely with all of my outfits.

I usually pick my top three favorite outfits from the month so here they are. Outfit #1- sweater: Old Navy, jeans: Hollister, socks: Kohls, booties: UGG, necklace: Loft; Outfit #2- jacket: TJ Maxx, jeans: Hollister, tee: Gap, sneakers: Nike; Outfit #3- flannel: Old Navy, tee: H&M, jeans: Gap, shoes: Converse. I forgot to mention that I have also been loving the athleisure look. Don’t forget that I post an outfit of the week every Sunday in my “Weekly Wrap Up” section.

I have also finished three books this month. I find myself having quite a bit of free time these days now that I don’t have cheer practice every single day for three hours and am only cheering at games a few times a week. I read The Perks Of Being a Wallflower, a book about five friends and their love for clothes that I just can’t think of the name for, and Until Friday Night which was absolutely incredible. It’s a high school love story with football incorporated, such a good read.

I also sadly finished One Tree Hill this month. If you have been around for quite some time you would know I have been head over heels in love with this show since I started it in June. I am so sad that I finished but so happy to have known the ending. Definitely a Netflix must! I have now started 90210 but haven’t gotten super into it yet.

Well that is it for now; I hope you have had a fabulous November ladies. I would love to receive some holiday post requests and ideas for the upcoming weeks. If you have any questions or comments please don’t hesitate to leave them below. Leave the link to your November Favorites below… I am more than happy to read it! Sending you all my love. Black Friday Haul

Woo, Black Friday is one of my favorite days of the year which is partially why I am so thrilled to be uploading this post. I went to so many different stores but only purchased things from a few. I also didn’t do too much damage which my wallet is super thankful for. However, I did get a few things that I will have to wait to receive for Christmas. Anyways, I love hauls so I figured I would share my finds with you all anyways.

Recently I have been  getting more and more into the athleisure style. When I found these two pairs os leggings I instantly fell in love. They are just to die for, how could you not?! The maroon pair on the left I picked up from Old Navy in a size Small and the hunter green pair are from TJ Maxx.

I have been on the hunt for a pair of baggier jeans that I can patch the heck out of for fun. This pair from Old Navy was drum roll please…… $2.20!!! Crazy, I know. They were a 2 petite and 90% off due to the size, talk about a SCORE! I also got this wrap, poncho, cape, whatever you want to call it from Old Navy as well. It’s so cute and I loved that it had blush pink, maroon, and navy in it.

These two chokers I picked up from Forever 21. If I’m being honest, they weren’t on any type of sale but they were super cute and I have been wanting a thick black one. Plus, how cute is the plaid one for the holidays?!

I picked up the Buxom $10 set from Sephora last year and was so happy I did. I use the products from it like every other day. So when I saw they were doing another one of these deals, I was too excited not to get another one.

IMG_2202.JPGI picked up this ivory vest from Old Navy too, such a staple. I also placed an order from Charming Charlie’s because I had a gift card. However, my stuff has not arrived yet so I don’t have anything to show you. I will be sure to do so once it arrives though.

Well that’s it for today’s post. I hope you all enjoyed. What was your  biggest score on Black Friday? I would love to hear in the comments below. I will be sure to do a post styling some of these pieces soon, so keep your eyes peeled! Have a fabulous day my friends, thank ya so much for stopping by. With love, McKenz.

GRWM-Thanksgiving (hair,makeup, outfit)

Hello friends, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and that you found some good deals today for Black Friday. My family kept things pretty casual this year but I still wanted to get all dolled up for dinner. Today I’ll be sharing with you all the details on my hair, makeup, and outfit.

As far as makeup goes, I knew I wanted to wear some burgundy toned shadows to match my sweater and have a bright inner corner. I started off the look by priming my face with the Nivea Men’s Shave Balm and my lids with the Urban Decay Primer Potion. I then used the Maybelline Matte Fit Me Foundation and set that with my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. I used the Lumene Bronzer to contour my temples, cheek bones, and nose. I highlighted using a shimmery champagne shadow from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar. For my lids I started out with the Maybelline Color Tattoo in ‘Barely Branded’ and popped this shade into my inner corner while I was at it. I used various shadows from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar to create this deep burgundy, and bright lid look. I filled in and shaped my brows using the Anastasia Dip Brow and then used the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara to thickly coat my lashes. For lipstick I used the Buxom Full On Lipstick in ‘Brooklynn’.

I chose to tightly curl my hair using a ConAir ‘1/2 inch curling wand. I then shook it out and sprayed it with the Got2BGlued Hairspray. It ended up leaving my hair super big and voluminous which is what I was hoping for!!

For my outfit I wore this fuzzy, maroon cape from TJ Maxx that I picked up a few weeks back. I’m wearing some medium-wash skinny jeans from Hollister, maroon socks from Target, and my brown riding boots which are from Target as well. Processed with VSCO with a5 preset

How did you all spend your Thanksgiving? Let me know in the comments, I would love to hear! Also if you have any questions, comments, or requests be sure to leave them below and I will be happy to listen. I am so thankful for all of the friends I have met over the last year and the people who are reading this right now. Thank YOU for helping partake in my success; I appreciate all the love. I hope you all have a fabulous rest of your weekend. Sending all my happiness and luck (for some super good Black Friday deals, duh!!!) your way! With love, McKenz.

Celeb Style Inspo

I have recently found myself constantly pinning celebrity  styles on Pinterest and have been so inspired by the never-ending street style looks. With New York Fashion Week being only few months behind us and all the holiday’s coming up, my celebrity style pictures have been flooding my timelines. I thought, what better thing to do than share some of my favorite celebrities styles. Hopefully this gives you all a bit of inspiration!

Hailey Baldwin is a 20 year old American model. She wears the most amazing clothes, sticking to very loose pieces that look simple and easy. She almost always has a heeled shoes on and looks incredible in almost every style. I loved the way she paired this skirt and the long jacket she wears on the right. Her outfits are more realistic to create and no near as expensive as some other celebrities.

I am almost certain that everyone knows who the Jenners are. Although I do not comprehend how or why they are so famous, I can not argue that they have an amazing sense of style. I picked these outfits because if you know me, you know I absolutely am obsessed with overalls, this is an outfit I could definitely see myself recreating. The outfits in the middle are simple and could be worn every day. I simply adore the outfit Kendall styled on the right. It’s so simple and classic yet trendy at the same time.

Zendya is another celeb that is always feeding me inspiration. She wears the most amazing pieces. They are daring yet she pulls them off in the most unexplainable ways. On the left I picked a simple outfit that most people own similar pieces to, and on the right a trend I have been wanting to try out. Silk, and dresses with sneakers are two fashion statements that are worth playing around with.

Well that is it for today’s fashion inspiration. What celebs are your personal favorites?! Do you like any of the ones I chose?! I hope you all have a fabulous Thanksgiving. If you have any comments or requests please leave them below. Have a fabulous day ladies. With love, McKenz.

Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

We are entering the best time of the year, the holidays! The first of many is Thanksgiving obviously and I thought what better thing to post than some outfit ideas for you all. I tried my best to include some variety within the outfits and thought that these four outfits were perfect for this time of year.

To begin, I have a super cozy, chunky outfit. Turtle necks are perfect for this time of year and so is olive-green. I’m pairing this sweater from Old Navy with some matching boot socks from Kohls to create a matchy-matchy look. My skinny jeans are from Hollister and I paired this outfit with my UGG Booties to create some contrast between all the green. I simply accessorize with a long gold necklace from Loft and added a gold watch from Kohls to tie the look together.

Some families simply stay at home for the holiday and don’t get too dressed up. I personally like to stay comfortable in what I call my ‘eating clothes’ for Thanksgiving. This outfit means a loose sweater and some leggings for the win. My knit is from the Gap Outlet, my tank that is layered underneath is from Old Navy, my leggings are from Hollister, and my riding boots are from Target. I also made sure to pair some leg warmers to coordinate with the tank and add a little something extra.

For the third look I wanted to incorporate this mustard yellow top which is perfect to wear around this time of year. It’s fun, festive, and the cold shoulder is totally in style right now. The matching choker is from Forever 21, my girlfriend jeans are from Gap, and my booties are the same UGG one’s from the first look!

Some people prefer to go the dress or skirt route so if this is your situation, this is the perfect outfit for you. My button front suede skirt is super trendy and perfect for this time of year. I added a black sweater to keep at least half of my body warm and added my lace up flats to the look to coordinate with the black of the sweater. I added a gold necklace and a gold watch to match the buttons on the skirt. I adore this outfit and I hope you all do too.

Well that’s it for my Thanksgiving outfit ideas; I hope you all enjoyed. Be sure to let me know which outfit was your favorite in the comments below along with any suggestions or questions you may have! I hope you all have the best day and before I go I just wanted to remind all of you how THANKFUL I am to have you guys with me this Thanksgiving. Thank you so much for stopping by. With love, McKenz.

Recreating Pinterest Outfits

I know for a fact I’m not the only gal that is constantly pinning outfits, shoes, and their dream life on Pinterest before they go to bed each night. A few months back I did a post where I recreated a few of my recent pins from Pinterest and you all really seemed to like it. I chose a few outfits from my various boards and decided to style them to really challenge myself to look through my closet and actually put some of the pictures to the test.

The first outfit was super casual and chunky. It’s something I would easily reach for during the weekend when I’m looking to just lounge around for the day but want to get out of my pajamas. I threw on a knit sweater from forever 21, tossed over my denim jacket from Kohls, and put on a pair of leggings from Target. I’m sure almost everyone has some sort of Converse, I just so happened to have black high tops as well.

I have been timid when thinking pattern mixing and have been dying to style my cheetah flats with a bandana which has left me constantly pinning outfit inspo for similar looks. This outfit happened to feature all the things I was looking for and I was able to style it almost identically. I wore my denim jacket from TJ Maxx over a striped tee from American Eagle. My black jeans are distressed so I opted for a classic dark wash instead. I thrifted these cheetah flats a while back and they are actually from Target as well as my black purse.

I love the preppy style especially during the colder months for all the layering purposes. I happened to have extremely similar pieces to the girl on the right so I decided to give it a go. My window pane flannel is last Winter’s from Old Navy as well as my red scarf. My medium wash jeans are from Hollister and my watch is from Kohls. I wanted to keep my socks white to match rather than the blue to pair with my bean boots from DSW.

Well that is it for today’s outfit recreations. I really hope you all enjoyed and if you have any outfits you would like me to recreate, feel free to message me them on Instagram. I would be happy to do a similar post styling them. Thank you all so much for reading; I hope this inspired you to look through your Pinterest boards and get your creative juices flowing the next time you find yourself standing in front of your closet. Have a fabulous day. With love, McKenz.
