Makeup Of The Day- bold eyes and a matte lip

If I’m being completely honest, it’s been a few weeks since I’ve done my makeup and been super in love with the way it turned out. This morning before school I was determined to have a good makeup day, as I had a super big day scheduled, and I ended up being super pleased with how my makeup turned out; so, I grabbed my camera and snapped some photos for you all.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetProcessed with VSCO with a5 presetI wanted a bold eye, and I knew I wanted to use the Too Faced chocolate Bar, so I slapped on some Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer, the Maybelline color Tattoo in ‘Barely Branded’, and then worked the maroon-tinted shadows into my crease, outter v, and lower lash line. For the lid I popped on the super pigmented champagne color over top of a Wet N Wild Glitter. Moving on, I used the Anastasia Dip Brow to shape and fill my brows. For mascara I used Maybelline Great Lash and the Covergirl Flammed Up Mascara. I was so happy with the eyes.

For the rest of my face I kept my usual for routine and then contoured using the Lumene Bronzer and took the same champagne eyeshadow I used on my lids to highlight above my cheekbones, down my nose, and on my cupid bow for a super glowy, dramatic effect. For the lips I chose a matte lipstick from Buxom in the shade ‘Brooklynn’.

Well that’s a wrap for today’s blog post. I am super sorry for the lack of posts this week, I have a huge county cheer competition, playoffs starting for football, and a new quarter beginning which has left me with almost no time to breate or create. As always if you have any questions or comments please leave them below.

If you have any requests for blog posts or YouTube videos (yes, I will be getting back into the swing of things on YT next week!!) please leave them below. Thank you all so much for reading; sending all my love your way. With love, McKenz.

Warby Parker Glasses Review + Styling

Happy Friday, friends! I hope you all are having a great day so far. Last week I was given the amazing opportunity to work with Warby Parker. I chose 5 pairs of glasses to wear for five days using their FREE Home-Try On system. I had such a good experience with Warby Parker that I wanted to share my thoughts and opinions on each pair of glasses and the brand itself.

If you’re unfamiliar with Warby Parker, they are a high-end, online store that sells glasses and sunglasses. For every pair of glasses purchased, a pair is given to someone in need. This makes me love the brand even more because they are giving back for a great reason. Everyone was so kind and made my experience with them very enjoyable and well worth my time. Like I said before, I chose to use the free Home-Try On system. After I placed my order I received my glasses within four business days. I had no problem with shipping and handling, as my glasses came nicely packaged and ready to wear.

Chelsea in (grapefruit soda)
These were the only pair of actual lenses that I got and they were definitely my favorite out of the bunch. They look so classic and made me feel so smart and sophisticated.

Banks (ginger crystal)
These sunglasses were huge but I didn’t mind too much because they were super fun and different. They looked super trendy and stylish.

Ellison (whiskey tortise)
These sunglasses had a super retro vibe to them which I personally loved. These ones fit my face much better than the Banks and were a much smaller frame. They had a bit of tortoise in them which I am loving!

Haskell (crystal and maple) I would have to say that these were my least favorite of the bunch just for the fact that I felt you couldn’t really see the tortoise lining which I was bummed about. Other than that, I really liked the size and shape of this particular pair!

Reilly (marzipan tortoise)
These oversized frames looked like something straight from a magazine. I felt so stylish in these but do not think I would purchase this pair because they were a little too big for my face. Otherwise, I think they looked so cool!

I am so happy to have had the opportunity to write this blog post for you all and share my thoughts on the incredible brand, Warby Parker. If you all are interested in trying five frames for five days for FREE click here.

Thank you all so much for reading, I hope you all have an amazing day. If you have any questions, comments, or requests please leave them below. I am happy to chat and give you more information on Warby Parker if needed. With love, McKenz

*Disclamer- All opinions are honest and my own, I am not being paid to write this blog post, nor would I ever feature a brand I didn’t truly enjoy.*

Styling Riding Boots: A Collab With quirksandskirts

Good morning ladies, I hope you all are having a wonderful day so far. With the holiday season right around the corner and chillier temperatures  quickly coming, my friend Melany from bequirkystaylovely (formerly known as quirksandskirts) and I thought what better way to kick off November than with styling our favorite boots! This collab will feature three outfit ideas featuring riding boots from myself, styledbymckenz and three outfit ideas featuring booties from Melany, quirksandskirts. Be sure to check out her half of the collab; her style is seriously the cutest and she is so sweet! ( ps she’s also a WordPress gal!) She’s also super faithful which we both have in common, so we will both be sharing a Bible verse we’ve been loving at the end!

Outfit Idea #1- jacket and a sweater
Off whitened olive-green are the perfect pairing for this time of year! They look so cozy together. When looking to add an extra layer I always pop on my army jacket and add a pair of leg warmers to match my sweater. This makes for a super warm and stylish ensemble.

jacket: TJ Maxx, sweater: Forever 21, jeans: Hollister, riding boots: Target, leg warmers: Kohls, bracelets: Alex and Ani

Outfit Idea #2- with a dress
Riding boots look great with dresses too! I paired my favorite tank-dress with a  fluffy white cardigan. My brown boots made my dress look a bit longer and gave my legs the least amount of exposure as possible which is perfect for the chillier months.

cardigan: Hollister, dress: Forever 21, leg warmers: Kohls, riding boots: Target, watch: Kohls, braceltes: Alex and Ani, Boho Betty

Outfit Idea #3- with a flannel
My last and probably most worn outfit with riding boots is definitely a flannel and sweater combo.  I love the layering and think it looks so cute and chic. Plus the possibilities are endless for this type of combo coming from my closet. Throw on some boot toppers and you’re good to go!

sweater: Old Navy, flannel: Old Navy, jeans: Hollister, boot toppers: Kohls, riding boots: Target, watch: JORD, sunglasses: Warby Parker, bracelet: Boho Betty

Melany is sharing three ways to style booties!

Recently I have been continuously reading is Psalm 119. It is fairly long, a few pages to be exact, but has the best verses that share input on trusting our God and remembering that everything we do is for Him and on his path. 119:64 says “The earth is full of your love, lord” and indeed it is!

I hope you all enjoyed those looks! Feel free to recreate any of them, I would love to see pictures. Be sure to check out Melany’s blog post and her blog here, as well as her Instagram. She is the nicest girl and I promise you will all love her. Give her blog a follow, and tell her I sent you! Have a great day, friends. With love, McKenz.
