Weekly Wrap Up

Weekly Wrap Up #29, #30, #31

Good morning friends! It feels like it’s been forever since we chatted, and unfortunately, that’s because it has been. First off I want to apologize, as I know it has been three weeks without a Weekly Wrap Up, but don’t worry, today I am here to bring you one! Also, there are no outfits in this Weekly Wrap Up. My apologies but there was no place to take pictures of myself while I was away. I had the absolute best time at the beach and am so thankful that my family and Jeanie’s were able to have such a memorable time. I am now super tan, blonde, and happy. I also want to say a huge thank you to all of you for supporting me along the way and helping me reach 300 followers here on StyledByMcKenz, and 800 followers on Instagram. I am so grateful for each and every one of you. Your kind words are the reasons i want to continue blogging forever. I hope you all have the best week ahead. With love, McKenz.

Skincare Routine

Hey guys, it’s McKenz! Today is my last scheduled blog post, woooo! Today I’m here to share with you my skincare routine which is often asked about. It’s pretty simple, but I hope you all find it helpful.

So as for some background on my skin;  it’s normal to dry. I don’t have terrible acne; however, my skin tends to freak out when i use certain products due to my skin being more on the sensitive side.To start my day I always moisturize using the Cerave Moisturizer. It keeps my skin from being dry. At night I remove my makeup with the Kirkland Face Wipes. Once i’m in the shower I use the Cetaphil Cleanser to remove any excess makeup, unclog my pores, and clean my face.Once I’m out of the shower I like to apply some aloe to my face. I don’t burn but I find that using aloe in the summer keeps my skin hydrated and prevents my tan from getting flaky. Lastly, if I’m breaking out at all, I’ll apply a bit of Epidou and then some more moisturizer.

That’s it for my skincare routine! It’s pretty boring and simple but it works for me! I hope you all enjoy. make sure to check out ‘Beauty Basics: Contour VS Bronzer”, “Makeup Addict Tag”, and “My Top 5 Favorite Youtubers. Thank you so much for all the love and support. Have a wonderful day! With love, McKenz.

Makeup Addict Tag

Hello everyone. I hope your morning is off to a great start! Today I am going to be answering the questions from the makeup addict tag which I have seen going around here on WordPress. Stay tuned to see if you’re one of the ten lucky ladies I tag! Without further ado… let’s get started.

1.What products are you always buying more of even though you have enough?

I own so much eyeshadow that I don’t need but I always give in.

2.What is one product you could never live without?

Definitely mascara, only because my eyelashes are so light, that by adding mascara my face completely transforms.

3. What is your favorite high end brand?

By far Urban Decay. I always splurge on their products.

4. How big is your makeup collection?

My makeup collection isn’t huge but it’s by far more than thee average person and I definitely don’t need it all. However, makeup is a hobby and my form of ‘art’.

5. How do you store your makeup?

I keep my makeup on my bedroom dresser in two, five drawer plastic containers.

6. How many makeup products are in your bag at the moment?

I keep hardly any makeup in my bag, often times I only have the the lip product i’m wearing at the moment and an old stick concealer.

7. How long is your makeup routine and how many products do you use?

A full face of makeup usually takes me twenty minutes, using about twenty products. Honestly though, to get fully ready; as in hair, makeup, and outfit it usually takes me a half hour.

8. Have you every bought a makeup product, knowing that you wouldn’t need it?

Of course! I know I’m not the only girl guilty of this one…oops. I most commonly do this with lip products.

Here are the ten girls I tag:

  1. thepearlylife
  2. cynthiarobinsonblog
  3. beautyliciousstyle
  4. embracevanity
  5. marivynblaire
  6. beyonfthesuedebeyonfthesuede

Beauty Basics: Contour VS Bronzer

Good morning friends; if you’ve never been around for one of my ‘Beauty Basics’ posts; welcome! Today I am here to share with you the difference between contour and bronzer. Along with that, the purpose of both products!

DSC_6366.JPGContouring is most easily defined as shaping your face to alternate your features. It’s most commonly used to slim down the nose, forehead, and cheeks.  My favorite product to contour with is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contntour Kit. It has one powder, one highlight, one banana powder, and three contouring powders; all for $42. To contour I apply some product on an angled brush and work the product down the sides of my nose to slim it. I then work some product into the hollows of my cheeks and blend down towards the lips. I also work some into my temples to make the forehead appear a bit smaller.

DSC_6367.JPGBronzer is usually worked into your cheekbones and temples using a bigger brush and is meant to warm up the complexion and leave you looking slightly sunkissed. Bronzers are usually super affordable and can be found in high quality from the drugstore. my two favorites are the Lumene bronzer, and the NYC Sunny Bronzer. Both are under $6!

Well that’s it for today’s post. If you have any questions, comments, or requests please leave them below. 2 Simple Summer Makeup Looks

Good morning everyone, I hope you all are doing well. My two girlries were kind enough to let me use their faces for this blog post. I did some super simple summer makeup looks on them. These could honestly be used throughout any season but I tried to keep them super lightweight so they were more applicable in the summertime. So without further ado, let’s get into it! I hope you all enjoy.

Celia said I could do whatever as long as I applied some face makeup. So to start off her face, I applied the Maybelline Matte Fit Me Foundation all over with a damp beauty blender. I set that with the NYC Powder/Bronzer Duo to keep her face from getting shiny and provide some color. I lightly contoured with my Anastasia Contour Kit. For the eyes I took the same shade I used to contour on a fluffy crease brush and worked it into her crease. It’s super subtle but adds some definition to the eyes. For mascara I used the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara and the Maybelline Colossal Mascara and applied generously. Lastly, to fill in the brows I used the Elf Eyebrow Kit to shape her brows and keep them in place! This is a super simple, yet gorgeous look!

Madison wanted hardly anything, so I started her off by shaping and filling her eyebrows in with the color ‘Frisk’ from the Naked Basics 2 Palette. Madison asked for no eye makeup, so she only applied mascara. I chose the Too Faced Better Than Sex. I lightly contoured using the Anastasia Contour Kit and then Madison applied a bold, red lip color from Nars.

Well, that is it for today’s blog post. I hope you all enjoyed these two super simple looks. If you have any questions, comments, or requests please leave them below, I’m open to anything and everything! Thank you so much for stopping by, have a wonderful day. Don’t forget to check out my most recent posts “GRWM: Girls Lunch Out”, “Soft Orange Makeup Tutorial//Too Faced Chocolate Bar” and “WWU #30”. Sending you all my love. With love, McKenz.

GRWM: Girls Lunch Out (Hair, Makeup, and Outfit)

Hello friends, today I’m going to be doing a get ready with me for a girls lunch out. As a teenager, my friends and I hang around the house most of the Summer if we’re not on vacation so we decided to all get off our butts and do something. I decided I might as well make something of it, so I’m going to be sharing with you my hair, makeup, and outfit!

Hair:

My hair is an absolute mess when it isn’t either straightened or curled, so I heated up the flat iron and tried my best to tame my wild hair. I use the Chi flat iron and the Got To Be Glued Hair spray to keep the frizz away from my scalp.

Makeup:

For makeup I tried to keep the eyes a soft orange and really stay away from face makeup. Nothing really matches my skin tone this time in the Summer and my skin has been looking really nice so I’m trying my hardest to keep it as clear as possible. I go into full depth on this makeup look in Monday’s post “Soft Orange Makeup Tutorial//Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette”. Go check it out to find out exactly how I created this look.

Outfit:

As for the outfits, we went with a denim theme so I’m throwing it back in this jean skirt from Guess. My off the shoulder top is from Hollister and my shoes are by the brand Pierre Dumas. My watch is Kate Spade and bracelets are a variety from Boho Betty, Alex and Ani, and DSW.

Well that’s a wrap for today’s post. I hope you all enjoyed. If you have any questions, comments, or requests please leave them below. I appreciate any and all feedback. Thank yiu so much for reading, I hope you all have the best day! With love, McKenz.

Soft Orange Makeup Tutorial//Too Faced Chocolate Bar

Hello everyone. It’s been quite some time since I posted a makeup tutorial here on styledbymcknez, but they’re some of my favorite things to write about so today I decided to share with you a soft orange makeup tutorial using the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. It looks beautiful and contrasts perfectly with blue eyes. If you’re interested in this simple look, keep reading!

I’m starting off my makeup with a clean, fresh face. First things first, I’m applying the Urban Decay Primer Potion in ‘Original’ all over my lids to ensure that my shadows won’t crease and will live up to their full potential.

I am then applying the Maybelline Color Tattoo in ‘Barely Branded’. This products acts as the perfect base and makes my eye shadows really pop.

Taking my Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette and grabbing the champagne shimmery shadow, I am then applying this all over the lids as my base shadow.

I’m then taking the burnt orange matte shade from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette and working this into my crease with a fluffy crease brush. I’m packing this on pretty heavily, as I won’t be adding any thing else directly on my crease.

I’m then taking my Wet N Wild Glitter Single and applying this onto my eyelids. Afterwards i’m taking the shimmery peach shade from my Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette and packing this over top of the glitter. The glitter makes the lid color pop and leaves a gorgeous effect. I’m also taking the matte dark brown on a tapered crease brush and working this into my outer v to create depth and definition.

I’m then applying some Vaseline to my eyebrows to keep them in place all day. Then I’m taking my Naked Basics 2 Palette and applying the color ‘Frisk’ on an angled crease brush. I’m then shaping my eyebrows and filling them in. Eyebrows are the most important part to your makeup routine, they completely change your face!

I’m then taking the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in ‘Milk’ and applying this to the brow bone to highlight my eyes. I love this step cause it makes my eyes look so much cleaner and defined.

At the moment I have hardly any face makeup that matches me so I’m using the Maybelline Matte Fit Me Foundation as a concealer and working this under my eyes to cancel out any dark circles. I’m the applying the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara and the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara to my upper and lower lashes.

I’m then applying the same eyeshadow from my Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette that I applied to my inner corners and used it as my face highlight. I decided not to contour but highlighted anyways to keep the look glowy.

Lastly, I’m applying the Buxom Full On Lipstick in ‘Brooklynn’ to my lips for a long lasting color.

Well, that’s it for today’s look! I hope you all enjoyed this post. If you like this style of makeup tutorials please let me know, I appreciate any and all feedback. Also, if you guys are interested in me making a YouTube channel for makeup tutorials let me know below! I aim to please, thank you all for reading. I hope you have a wonderful day.
