Holiday Makeup Tutorial- A Collab With Sophiemaie

Good morning, ladies! It is very rare that I ever blog on a Tuesday but I made a special exception when my dear blogging friend Sophie from sophiemaie asked me if I was up for posting a collab. Of course my answer was yes, as I am delighted to be working together on such  fun post. We love the holidays and of course all the festive makeup looks that come with the month. We are both going to be sharing holiday makeup looks so you are sure to get some inso for your next holiday party!

Although my skin is by no means bad, as you can tell, it is quite pale compared to the rest of my body and rather uneven. Therefore, I will be applying face makeup today to make the overall appearance of my look put together, and fresh.

To begin I am applying the Nivea Men’s Shave Balm all over my face to prepare my skin for the following products being applied. This product is sure to keep your makeup on for hours on end and smells so good!

I am then applying the Maybelline Matte Fit Me Foundation all over my face using a beauty blender. As you can tell this step alone completely transforms my face now that my whole skin tone is evened out. Afterwards, I am buffing the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder onto my face to keep my face matte all evening. This powder is the best and is under $5 at the drugstore.

Then, to cover my under eye circles I am using the NYX HD Concealer (perfect dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Skin) . To set my under eyes I am applying the banana powder from my Anastasia Contour Kit. This will keep the concealer from creasing and brighten up that general area.

I am then contouring the hollows of my cheeks, my temples, and the sides of my nose to slim down the overall shape of my face and define my features a bit more. I am then highlighting the bridge of my nose and my cheekbones. I used the Anastasia Contour Kit for both of these steps- this palette is such a good investment!

In order to prep my lids for eyeshadow and ensure that my shadows don’t crease and keep a flawless appearance all night I am applying the Urban Decay Primer potion and the Maybelline Color Tattoo in “Barely Branded”.

I am then using the colors ‘snakebite’ and ‘bootycall’ from the Naked 2 Palette along with a few matte brown shadows from my Naked Basics 2 palette and creating a monotone look that will not draw too much attention to the eyes.

I am then filling and shaping my brows with the Anastasia Dip Brow. After, I am going in with the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara and fully coating my lashes. These two steps alone will instantly transform the face and make your eyes look much more awake!

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetI am then applying one of my favorite red lipsticks from Essence. Any red lipstick will do and will make this look so festive and perfect or this time of year.

Here are a few pictures from the final look. I hope you all enjoyed this simple, festive makeup look and were able to take some inspiration from this. Don’t forget to check out Sophie’s blog post here; she’s doing Blogmas on her page so you are sure to find some cute holiday themed posts! As always, if you have any questions, comments, or requests please leave them below. Have a great day, ladies! With love, McKenz
