5 Ways to Style an Army Jacket

I survived my first high school exam week and I have never felt more relieved. I’m so excited, here on the East Coast we’re getting our first big snow storm of the season, with a prediction of eighteen to twenty four inches! Super exciting, right?!! Besides that, today I’m here watching Quantico while writing today’s blog post which is based on one of my absolute favorite clothing pieces in my closet. I purchased my army jacket in October of 2015 from TJ Maxx for a whopping $20. To say that this jacket was a good purchase on my part is an understatement. I hope you enjoy these five outfit ideas that range from dressy to casual; as always outfit details will be listed below.

Off white and olive green will forever be one of my favorite combos and this outfit is always what I reach for if I’m in a rut over what to wear. It’s comfy and casual. The jacket adds an extra layer to stay warm in the winter and coordinating your socks to your sweater is an easy way to dress up your outfit and add some complexity to it.

An easy way to dress up a plain black tee and black booties. I always reach for a plaid scarf with coordinating boot socks. Along with this I like to add my army jacket to use several different textures and add a pop of color. I love this style for the weekend when I’m going out and want to look stylish but still comfortable and warm.

Need to spice up a dress? Add an army jacket and some jewelry! This is my go to when I feel that my outfit is bland and needs some spicing up. Along with the jacket, heeled booties add some dressiness, ensuring you to look stylish and score tons of compliments.

Every girl needs a day spent in leggings. Black and white stripped shirts are my absolute favorite, I have enough to count on two hands. To complete this casual outfit I wore my trusty black high tops that have never gone out of style.

Don’t be fooled, flannels can be paired with army jackets too! I like to wear mine with a scarf (the top button on my shirt came undone causing this picture to be crappy, rolls eyes) and of course paired with matching socks and coordinating boots. This outfit is perfect for school if you’re trying to look more put together or even a girls night out.
