Bootie Collection 2017

One of my very first posts here on styledbymckenz was a bootie collection. My collection has grown and varied so much since then that I decided what better way to kick off the first week of January than with an updated one! Booties are super trendy and the perfect staple in every girls’ wardrobe. Well before I keep talking, let’s get on into the boots.

5 Ways To Style Birkenstocks

Birkenstocks stole the show in 1774 and have been a staple piece in many people’s wardrobes since. With them being all the rage right now I decided to bring to you all five ways to style them. I personally adore Birks and think they are so easy and fun to wear. Everyone around here has a pair. I have both the two buckle, and the t-strap, but I find myself reaching for my buckle ones more often. Mine are also black, so they match with almost everything. Without further ado, let’s get on into the outfits!

FullSizeRender (10).jpgFor the first outfit I tried to keep it more realistic and relaxed. If I’m being honest, as a teenager I don’t always have a reason to get dressed every summer morning, and when i do it’s not like I need to be in full glam mode. A hat, tee, and your favorite cut offs is perfect!

Outfit Details- hat: Tourist Shop, shirt: H&M, shorts: American Eagle, shoes: TJ Maxx, watch: Target, bracelets: assorted/Boho BettyFullSizeRender (11).jpg

Along with Birkenstocks, denim is also sweeping through the fashion world. I thrift-ed this denim, button front skirt a few years back and think it pairs adorably with these shoes.

Outfit Details- shirt: H&M, skirt: Mossimo Supply Co., shoes: TJ Maxx, necklace: Forever 21, watch: Target, bracelets: assorted/Boho Betty

FullSizeRender (9).jpgWooo overalls make me so happy!!! I think they look so adorable paired with Birks for a laid back country feel, and a sleek cut tank and jewelry to add a bit of class. This is defiantly one of my favorite outfits.

Outfit Details- shirt: Hollister, overalls: Gap, shoes: TJ Maxx, necklace: forever 21, watch: Target, bracelets: assorted/Boho Betty

FullSizeRender (8).jpgI love a good t-shirt dress. And not to mention one with stripes. This has to be one of m favorite go to outfits because of how simple and easy to wear it is.

Outfit Details- dress: TJ Maxx, shoes: TJ Maxx, necklace: Forever 21, watch: target, bracelets: Alex and Ani and Boho Betty

FullSizeRender (7).jpgThis outfit is a bit more fall-ish but is still cute. I know some people live in cooler climates or prefer jeans over shorts. I try to wear white jeans as much as possible while they are still in season, plus olive green is my absolute favorite in the summer because it makes you look that much tanner! :,)

Outfit Details- shirt: Old Navy, bralette: American Eagle, jeans: Gap Outlet, shoes: TJ Maxx, watch: Target, bracelets: assorted

Well that’s a wrap for t0day’s styling post. I hope you all enjoy these outfits as much as I do! If you have any questions, comments, or requests please leave them below as I am open to chat about anything. Don’t forget to subscribe if you’re not already and have a wonderful day. Love you all tons, thank you so much for reading. With love, McKenz.

15th Birthday Haul

Hi friends, happy Monday! Many of you probably know that a couple weeks ago I celebrated my fifteenth birthday. Today I decided to share with you some of the presents I received. I am so thankful or all the people that shared this day with me and thought of me. By no means am I trying to brag, I just thought it would be fun to share with you some of the things I received! So without further ado, let’s get into the haul!

If you know me, you know I’m an absolute shoe hoarder. Whether it’s Christmas, my birthday, or any other occasion where you might possibly receive a gift, I probably asked for a pair of shoes. So these shoes are a combination of gifts from my sister, parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and myself lol. The top two pairs of sandals are from Target. I’m still all for anything that laces up my ankles so I got the cognac pair for more boho outfits and the silverish pair for more chic, classy outfits.  Call us crazy, but my sister and I haven’t gotten one another a birthday or Christmas gift in years so this year we decided to buy each other a pair of Converse. I decided on a pair of maroon ones since it’s the color I tend to wear the most all year round. Last summer I searched for these rainbow flip flops everywhere, I couldn’t find them in my size so I gave up. Luckily when my birthday rolled around I had the bright idea of ordering them off of Amazon so that’s what I did. they are so cute and comfortable so they’re perfect to just throw on and head out the door. Everyone and the mother seems to own white high top converse, so it was my turn to hop on the bandwagon and I don;t regret it even for a second. Lastly, my Chacos!!! Chacos are a huge thing in the South and I have always wanted a pair to bring with me to Wisconsin in the Summer. So I decided to go for it, I’m so excited to wear these fishing, hiking, and walking around!

Besides all the shoes, my gift from my parents absolutely dropped my jaw. I’ve wanted a navy Longchamp for a few years now and my parents were the absolute best and gave me a navy size large. I’ve already used it a ton and am so happy to have a tote that is perfect for literally everything. I got a few  bathing suits and some Dunkin gift cards which is the equivalent to being rich in high school ;).

Anyways that is it for today’s post. I will be trying to do a look-book or some outfit ideas with all those shoes if you all would be interested in seeing that, thank you so much for stopping by and reading. Check out my last post here, follow me on Instagram here, and don’t forget to subscribe! Wishing you so much happiness today. With love, McKenz.

Transitioning into Spring

Good morning everyone. I know I’m not the only one who lives in a state with weather that’s forty degrees one day and seventy five the next day. I’ve never really liked Spring for that reason but if you’re anything like me than this post is perfect for you. Today I am here to show you my favorite clothing pieces and beauty tips to help ease into Spring. I hope you all have enjoyed my last two posts, if you missed them click here and here. Thank you so much for 400 Instagram followers and the endless love and support. Wishing you the happiest of days. With love, McKenz.

One of my favorite things to do as we move into the warmer months is switch up my purse. I tend to reach for my darker colored bags during Winter so when it started to warm up here I started reaching for my gold cross body from Gap, just look how cute that tassel on the side is.

I also love switching up my perfume. I almost always have on Vanilla from bath and Body Works but when the sun is shining I love Sunkissed from Victorias Secret Pink. It smells like the beach in a bottle and brings a smile to my face just by looking at it.

I can’t be the only one that struggles with picking out shoes. It feels like boot weather when you leave the house and sandal season when you come home. I opt for my lace up flats from Old Navy because they show skin without being too much. I also love these knock off Jack Rogers from Amazon because they go with everything.

I often paint my nails a nude or berry color throughout the Winter months but when it comes to the Spring I like to reach for the bright colored polishes in my collection. Bubblegum pink and white are two of my favorites along with coral which you can almost always find on my toes. My two favorite brands for an even, flawless finish are Sally Hansen Hard As Nails and Essie.

My Urban Decay Naked Three Palette is perfect for this time of year. It’s full of rose gold eyeshadows that look gorgeous on the eyes. If you don’t want to break the bank check out the Covergirl TruNaked Palettes. If you’re unsure read this review that has my full thoughts and swatches of this palette.

Start swapping out your vampy lip colors for a bright pink or pop of color. My favorite lippies in the spring are the Essence Lipstick in Natural Beauty, the Urban Decay Lipstain, and the Lipilicious Lip-gloss in Cotton Candy.

Another makeup favorite that I start reaching for in the warmer months is blush because it adds a natural looking flush to your cheeks and a healthy glow. I love this four color Blush Palette from Elf.

Lastly I like to start adding color into my jewelry stack. I picked this watch up from Kohls about a year ago and still adore it. I love stacking my Alex and Anis and pairing them with a few pink jeweled bracelets from DSW for subtle, fun pops of color.

6 Ways To Style Booties

The amount of shoes I have is rather uncalled for (oopsie..) but it comes in handy when I want to write a blog post! Today I am going to be showing you ladies six different ways to wear your booties. I have included one pair of rain booties, two pairs of heeled booties, and three pairs of booties with less than a half inch heel. I thought the variety of styles would be perfect because I am fully aware that there are several different styles and you all are obviously not guaranteed to have the same styles as myself. I really hope you guys enjoy this styling post, they are my favorite, so if you have any other clothing pieces you think I should style please let me know because I would love to do that for you! If you didn’t see yesterdays post click here. Hope you’re having a fabulous day, with love, McKenz.

This outfit is one of my favorites, it’s easy to wear and a quick outfit with only four items in total. I think it’s super comfortable but still looks put together with socks that match the turtle neck perfectly.

Outfit Details: booties- Steve Madden, sweater- Old Navy, jeans- Hollister, socks- Columbia, watch- Kate Spade

For a rainy day that consists of damp streets I like to wear shoes that are practical for the weather. For a little bit of rain I would much rather wear my booties instead of rain boots because they weigh a lot less and are less bulky. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Hunters, but I prefer to wear those in the snow. I’m paring this with a sweater and a matching scarf to stay warm.

Outfit Details: booties- Michael Kors, sweater- Old Navy, scarf- Gap, jeans- Hollister, watch- Macys, boot toppers- Francescas, bracelets- Alex and Ani

For some of my viewers that work in a more professional setting, this one’s for you: I think that pairing a cardigan with a tank top is a timeless outfit. Pair this with a few dainty necklaces, a statement necklace, or even a scarf to spice this look up a bit and the matching socks balance this look out perfectly.

Outfit Details: booties- TJ Maxx, cardigan- Gap, tank top- Old Navy, jeans- Hollister socks- Aeropostale, watch- Macys

I wore this outfit to a cheer event one time and got tons of compliments. I also wore this dress to homecoming with heels and then was able to transition it to something much more casual and appropriate for the occasion by adding my army jacket to play with some textures and adding some fun heeled booties with a cool cut out on the side. Don’t be afraid to branch out a bit, that’s what fashion is all about.

Outfit Details: booties- Nine West, dress- TJ Maxx, jacket- TJ Maxx, watch- Kate Spade, bracelets- Alex and Ani

I love my maroon booties because they add a pop of color to my mostly earth toned wardrobe. My mom happened to give me this cowell neck sweater after it shrunk in the watch and it matched perfectly! I love these boots with an all black look or even a white top, jeans, and matching statement necklace or scarf.

Outfit Details: booties- Old Navy, jeans: Hollister, sweater: Tahari, watch: Kate Spade, bracelets: Alex and Ani and Charming Charlies

This is probably my most worn outfit with booties. I have a love for scarves and crew neck sweaters paired with matching socks and because I have an endless supply of all three, this outfit style is always on repeat.

Outfit Details: booties- Sam Edelman, sweater- Old Navy, scarf- Steve Madden, socks- Kohls, watch- Kate Spade
