March Empties

Hey everyone, welcome back to styledbymckenz! In January I shared my first ever empties post of all the products I used up throughout the month and my honest opinion/review on all the products. I got such positive feedback and finished so many products this month that I figured, why not do another one?! Alright, before I start to ramble let’s get on into it.

March Empties

I finished up quite the stash of body products as you can tell. This is probably my fourth set of Warm Vanilla Sugar lotion and perfume. It is my absolute favorite scent because it’s not to perfume-y, I will definitely be repurchasing this set again. I use Bath & Body Works body washes all the time, however I wasn’t in love with this scent ( A Thousnad Wishes) so I probably will not repurchase this one again. I also finished the 3 Minute Miracle hair mask from Aussie. This was my fifth time finishing a bottle and I will most definitely repurchase this again. It is such a life saver for dry, brittle hair!

March Empties

I also finished quite a few makeup products this month. First, is the only brush cleaner I have ever used. I find that it works well but nothing about it screams ‘amazing’ to me. I also finished the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara which is my favorite affordable mascara because it lengthens and volumizes at the same time, plus at $5 it cannot be beat. I also finished the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer and have already repurchased it. It is the best drugstore concealer because it covers literally everything. Lip products are something I absolutely never finish but this month I finished two; a Stila Lipgloss that is super sticky but was the prettiest color and a Buxom lipstick. I received this as a sample on Black Friday two years ago and used it at least once a week from then on. It is the perfect color and I will be repurchasing this in the full size as soon as possible. I also used the Elf Natural Lash Kit at formal last weekend. I love their lashes but the glue is awfu. I would highly suggest getting a different lash glue when using their lashes.

Nivea Shave Balm Primer Review & Pictures

A few weeks ago I purchased the Nivea Men Post Shave Balm from Walmart for $7.00 I was hearing so many good things about this product and since my Elf Mineral Face Primer hadn’t been satisfying all my needs, I decided that it was time to try out something new. The Nivea Shave Balm acts as a perfect face primer due to the glycerol in it which creates a tacky base, keeping your makeup in place all day. The smell is heavenly, I would describe it as musky and very Abercrombie like. It’s 3.3 ounces which is enough to do your makeup literally over 100 times. I think it’s the perfect primer and I will definitely be repurchasing.

Here’s a picture of my makeup at 3 pm: approximately eight and a half hours after I applied it. Keep in mind I am fifteen years old so my everyday routine within that time is sitting in school, riding the humid bus to and from school, and eating lunch outside under the sun. I’d say it does the job as well as it gets.

Anyways, I really wanted to share my thoughts with you. The price is right, you can purchase it from any drug store, and it gets the job done which is why I wanted to tell you all to go out and get you some !!! Thank you all so much for reading, don’t forget to check out my latest posts, Weekly Wrap Up #23 and 15th Birthday Haul. Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette Review

So it turns out that Marylander’s can’t handle 27 inches of snow in a week so we’ve been off since last Friday. Might as well be a second winter break, but I’m not complaining. I’m currently lounging on the couch catching up on what seems like hundreds of videos piled up in my YouTube subscription box and reviewing one of my favorite eye shadow palettes, the Too Faced Chocolate Bar. I’ve had this palette for about six months now and I am more than ready to sit down and tell you all my thoughts on it. I will also include swatches, eye shadow names, and links to different places it can be purchased. I hope you enjoy and leave any product names you would like me to review below. Happy Friday, friends. With love, McKenz.

I absolutely adore the packaging of this Too Faced palette, it’s aimed to resemble a chocolate bar and the inside consists of 6 matte eyes shadows and 10 shimmers. With a warm tone range of shadows and a few fun, pops of color Too Faced has out done themselves with the creamy texture, chocolate scent, and wide range of colors. “Did you say chocolate scent??!” Yes I did, both this palette (Too Faced Chocolate Bar), and the second palette in the collection (Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar) are both infused with cocoa powder which creates the delicious smell.

Like I said this palette has sixteen shadows and like all palettes some shadows prove to be more pigmented than others. Keep in mind that some shadows don’t show up on my skin but do on my eyelids because my skin is far tanner than my eyelids. 🙂 Also, I will say that I truly do feel that these shadows appear twice as pigmented on the lid rather than swatched on the back of my arm, but that’s just my personal experience.IMG_7292.JPG

This is the first row in the palette (horizontally). Shadow names from top to bottom: triple fudge (matte), black forest truffle, milk chocolate (matte), white chocolate (matte), and gilded ganache.

Unfortunately this picture is a little blurry, sorry friends! This is the second row in the palette. Shadow names from top to bottom: amaretto, candied violet, strawberry bon bon, semi-sweet, marzipan, and salted caramel.

This is by far my favorite row in the palette and is the third. Shadow names from top to bottom: champagne truffle, cherry cordial, haute chocolate, creme brulee, and hazelnut.

I find this palette similar to the Naked Palette in some aspects. Although I do find this more versatile; with peach, maroon, bronze, and gold shades all in one. And if I’m being honest, it’s very rare I ever reach for the smokey shades in my Naked palette anyways.

Also, this palette retails for $49.00 and can be purchased on the Too Faced website, Sephora, or Ulta. I would give this palette a 7.5 for pigmentation, an 8.5 for texture, and a 9 for wear time. Over all, I would rate the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette an 8.5/10 and definitely worth the purchase.
