Pinterest Outfit Recreations

I am obsessed with Pinterest and that is no secret. It is an awesome way to connect with other bloggers, gain inspiration, and keep all your favorite pictures in one place. All of these reasons being why last year I began to recreate a few of the pictures I had saved on my Pinterest account every couple of months. These posts challenge me to really look in my closet and get creative with my style and wardrobe. I totally recommend doing this if you are ever stuck in a clothing rut (like myself lately) or are interested in trying out some newer trends!

* Keep in mind that these outfit recreations are not meant to be exact matches and may be minorly restyled in order to fit my personal style.*

If I’m being honest, the weather where I live has not reached 100% tee shirt weather yet. Therefore, three quarter length tees are the perfect option for this time of year. I’m throwing on my super trendy and comfortable black block heels from Target and a neck scarf to tie the look together.

Top: Old Navy, jeans: Hollister, shoes: Target, scarf: Michael’s

A classic white tee and your favorite jeans are the perfect thing to reach for when you’re questioning what to wear. I’m popping on a light cardigan and a few dainty necklaces to finish off the look.

Tee: Old Navy, jeans: Gap, sandals: Target, cardigan: Kohl’s, necklaces: Charming Charlies and Kendra Scott

Light layers are so essential for this time of year. Chilly weather in the morning and warmer temps in the afternoon calls for a classic white tee with a trusty denim jacket over top. I threw on these lace-up flats for a pop of color and the perfect in between season shoe vibe.

Jeans: Gap, jean jacket: Kohl’s, tee: Ann Taylor, flats: Glick’s, purse: Target

Pinterest Outfit Recreations

These posts challenge me to really look in my closet and get creative with my style and wardrobe. I totally recommend doing this if you are ever stuck in a clothing rut (like myself lately) or are interested in trying out some newer trends!

This was the first outfit I chose to recreate simply because I have a few denim button ups that I never seem to reach for anymore. I figured that this outfit is perfect for this time of year anyways! I still need a sweater because temperatures are around the forties but it has a spring vibe in my opinion.

sweater: Talbots, jeans: Hollister, button up: Hollister, booties: Sam&Libby

I thought this outfit was too cute. I loved the black and white paired with the chunky belt. I fished this one out of my mom’s closet and threw on a black choker as well. I didn’t have shoes that looked too similar so I’m wearing black booties in place. I never would have thought of this outfit combo if it weren’t for Pinterest which is exactly why I love doing these types of posts!

top: Hollister, jeans: Gap, shoes: Steve Madden, belt: unknown, choker: Forever 21

I’ve also been looking for more ways to style my leather jacket with light wash denim so this outfit was right up my ally. A simple white tee and some classic black booties tied this look together perfectly.

jacket: Target, tee: Old Navy, jeans: Gap, booties: TJ Maxx

Pinterest Outfit Recreations (Holiday Edition)

I can not believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve! I can hardly wait. Today I wanted to share some more Pinterest outfit recreations. I adore recreating outfits that I have saved because it allows me to search my closet and really be creative with the stuff I already own. I tried to pick a few outfits for this post that are more appropriate for the holiday season in case you are still in need of some outfit inspiration for the next few says. Alright before I keep talking too much, let’s get on into the outfits!

By the way, these outfits aren’t as similar as some of my other Pinterest outfit recreations! I apologize, but I wanted to really be creative and step out of my comfort zone a bit!

I chose this outfit to recreate because I am obsessed with velvet currently! This dress is a few years old and paired so perfectly with my favorite lace up heels.

Outfit Details- dress: Aeropostale, necklaces: Loft and Charming Charlies, heels: DSW

This is one of my favorite outfits that I have pinned recently but it was the hardest to recreate. I haven’t worn my leather jacket lately so I pulled the out for the look and paired it with this cozy grey turtle neck.

Outfit Details- jacket: Target, sweater: Old Navy, jeans: Hollister, booties: TJ Maxx, purse: Target, choker: DIY

This little black dress outfit is perfect for this time of year if you show on a jacket and a pop of color somewhere. I figured a maroon bubble necklace and a maroon lippie will completely tie this look together.

Outfit Details- dress: Old Navy, necklace: Old Navy, flats: Old Navy

Well that’s it for today’s post. I will be back soon for a Weekly Wrap Up sometime this weekend. Until then, I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy holidays! I am so very thankful for you all and hope you have the best time off. Sending all my love your way. With love, McKenz.

Recreating Pinterest Outfits

I know for a fact I’m not the only gal that is constantly pinning outfits, shoes, and their dream life on Pinterest before they go to bed each night. A few months back I did a post where I recreated a few of my recent pins from Pinterest and you all really seemed to like it. I chose a few outfits from my various boards and decided to style them to really challenge myself to look through my closet and actually put some of the pictures to the test.

The first outfit was super casual and chunky. It’s something I would easily reach for during the weekend when I’m looking to just lounge around for the day but want to get out of my pajamas. I threw on a knit sweater from forever 21, tossed over my denim jacket from Kohls, and put on a pair of leggings from Target. I’m sure almost everyone has some sort of Converse, I just so happened to have black high tops as well.

I have been timid when thinking pattern mixing and have been dying to style my cheetah flats with a bandana which has left me constantly pinning outfit inspo for similar looks. This outfit happened to feature all the things I was looking for and I was able to style it almost identically. I wore my denim jacket from TJ Maxx over a striped tee from American Eagle. My black jeans are distressed so I opted for a classic dark wash instead. I thrifted these cheetah flats a while back and they are actually from Target as well as my black purse.

I love the preppy style especially during the colder months for all the layering purposes. I happened to have extremely similar pieces to the girl on the right so I decided to give it a go. My window pane flannel is last Winter’s from Old Navy as well as my red scarf. My medium wash jeans are from Hollister and my watch is from Kohls. I wanted to keep my socks white to match rather than the blue to pair with my bean boots from DSW.

Well that is it for today’s outfit recreations. I really hope you all enjoyed and if you have any outfits you would like me to recreate, feel free to message me them on Instagram. I would be happy to do a similar post styling them. Thank you all so much for reading; I hope this inspired you to look through your Pinterest boards and get your creative juices flowing the next time you find yourself standing in front of your closet. Have a fabulous day. With love, McKenz.

Recreating Pinterest Outfits//Summer Edition

I know I’m not the only girl who is constantly pinning outfits to their Pinterest boards but never looks at them again. Today I went through my fashion board and decided to recreate three of the outfits I had pinned. I didn’t have the exact pieces for some of these outfits but I tried my best to match the clothing as best as I could.

1) I knew that I wanted to recreate at least one outfit that incorporated Birkenstocks. this one was so cute and looks perfect for a bonfire or towards the end of August as you’re drifting into Fall. If you live in a hotter climate  you could always just drape the sweater along your purse!

This was the outfit I created. The sweater is from Gap, the tank is from Old Navy, my jean shorts are American Eagle, and my shoes are black Birks.

2) Whenever I go out with my girls, we always opt for jeans, as they always look cuter and pair much better with wedges than shorts do. I loved how this one came together.

This was definitely my favorite outfit of the three. My top is from Athleta, my necklace is from Aeropostale. The jeans aren’t ripped but were a similar color from Hollister, and my wedges are from Amazon. The watch is also Kate Spade.

3) This is probably my least favorite of the three, mostly because I wished they had paired e outfit with black shoes. None the less I did my best to match this casual, day time outfit.

For this outfit I took my favorite black V neck from American Eagle with a pair of olive-green flowy shorts from Hollister. My shoes are from Bass, my watch is Kate Spade, and my sunglasses are from the Dollar Store. I would’ve worn earrings to go with, however, I don’t have my ears pierced!

Well that’s a wrap for today’s blog post. I hope this gave you all some outfit inspiration and some ideas on how to put your Pinterest boards to good use. Follow me on Pinterest if you’d like here. Thank you all for stopping by. With love, McKenz.
