Winter to Spring Transition (Outfits + Tips)

Boy oh boy am I bummed that the weatherman is calling for a half a foot of snow tonight… all I want is warm weather so I can start wearing some spring pieces and begin packing away my boots! (Is that too much to ask?!) In the meantime, I have been dreaming of warmer weather and putting together a few spring outfits plus coming up with a handful of tips that will help you easily transition your winter wardrobe to spring.

Outfit Details- sweater: Banana Republic, statement necklace: Francesca’s, jeans: Hollister, shoes: Palm Beach Sandals, bracelets: Alex and Ani

I know for a lot of people right now it is much too cold to neglect their sweaters all together which is why my first tip is to start breaking out the color. By adding a colored sweater to your wardrobe you can continue staying warm during those brisk mornings but won’t feel confined in the dark hues that tend to be worn during the colder months.

I also recommend swapping out your boots with some lighter shoes like flats or even sandals. I tend to switch over to sandals once it gets to be about  65 degrees.

Outfit Details- tee: Aeropostale, cardigan: Hollister/TJ Maxx, skirt: thrifted/Target, shoes: Forever 21

I am also well aware that the transition from jeans to shorts can be super awkward so I tend to ease my way to showing some more leg by opting for dresses and skirts for a while. This way, when I’m finally ready to start wearing shorts once it begins to get even warmer it doesn’t feel like such a harsh transition.

Don’t pack away your cardigans, they are seriously perfect for the spring time. I tend to pair them over dresses or over a cute springy tank. This way I am incorporating some warm weather pieces while not completely freezing my booty off.

Outfit Details- blouse: Loft, jeans: Gap, flats: Glicks, bracelets: Alex and Ani

My last tip is to start wearing lighter denim if you can help it. I feel as though it just adds a touch of lightness to a look. White jeans scream spring and look good with almost anything- don’t be afraid of them!

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post. How do you start transitioning from winter clothing to spring?! Let me know in the comments below along with any other questions, comments, or requests you may have for me. Wishing you all the happiest day. With love, McKenz.

This Art Of Disguise post is different from the rest in the series just like the last one about the Duchess of Cambridge. It is not about how you perceive a person differently with their appearance… this post is about how the season influences change in outfits!

Do check out this blog! It has many more of these transitions, make-up and fashion tips and an interesting segment named “Weekly Wrap”! Don’t miss it!
