GRWM: Girls Lunch Out (Hair, Makeup, and Outfit)

Hello friends, today I’m going to be doing a get ready with me for a girls lunch out. As a teenager, my friends and I hang around the house most of the Summer if we’re not on vacation so we decided to all get off our butts and do something. I decided I might as well make something of it, so I’m going to be sharing with you my hair, makeup, and outfit!

My hair is an absolute mess when it isn’t either straightened or curled, so I heated up the flat iron and tried my best to tame my wild hair. I use the Chi flat iron and the Got To Be Glued Hair spray to keep the frizz away from my scalp.

For makeup I tried to keep the eyes a soft orange and really stay away from face makeup. Nothing really matches my skin tone this time in the Summer and my skin has been looking really nice so I’m trying my hardest to keep it as clear as possible. I go into full depth on this makeup look in Monday’s post “Soft Orange Makeup Tutorial//Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette”. Go check it out to find out exactly how I created this look.

As for the outfits, we went with a denim theme so I’m throwing it back in this jean skirt from Guess. My off the shoulder top is from Hollister and my shoes are by the brand Pierre Dumas. My watch is Kate Spade and bracelets are a variety from Boho Betty, Alex and Ani, and DSW.

Well that’s a wrap for today’s post. I hope you all enjoyed. If you have any questions, comments, or requests please leave them below. I appreciate any and all feedback. Thank yiu so much for reading, I hope you all have the best day! With love, McKenz.

Soft Orange Makeup Tutorial//Too Faced Chocolate Bar

Hello everyone. It’s been quite some time since I posted a makeup tutorial here on styledbymcknez, but they’re some of my favorite things to write about so today I decided to share with you a soft orange makeup tutorial using the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. It looks beautiful and contrasts perfectly with blue eyes. If you’re interested in this simple look, keep reading!

I’m starting off my makeup with a clean, fresh face. First things first, I’m applying the Urban Decay Primer Potion in ‘Original’ all over my lids to ensure that my shadows won’t crease and will live up to their full potential.

I am then applying the Maybelline Color Tattoo in ‘Barely Branded’. This products acts as the perfect base and makes my eye shadows really pop.

Taking my Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette and grabbing the champagne shimmery shadow, I am then applying this all over the lids as my base shadow.

I’m then taking the burnt orange matte shade from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette and working this into my crease with a fluffy crease brush. I’m packing this on pretty heavily, as I won’t be adding any thing else directly on my crease.

I’m then taking my Wet N Wild Glitter Single and applying this onto my eyelids. Afterwards i’m taking the shimmery peach shade from my Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette and packing this over top of the glitter. The glitter makes the lid color pop and leaves a gorgeous effect. I’m also taking the matte dark brown on a tapered crease brush and working this into my outer v to create depth and definition.

I’m then applying some Vaseline to my eyebrows to keep them in place all day. Then I’m taking my Naked Basics 2 Palette and applying the color ‘Frisk’ on an angled crease brush. I’m then shaping my eyebrows and filling them in. Eyebrows are the most important part to your makeup routine, they completely change your face!

I’m then taking the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in ‘Milk’ and applying this to the brow bone to highlight my eyes. I love this step cause it makes my eyes look so much cleaner and defined.

At the moment I have hardly any face makeup that matches me so I’m using the Maybelline Matte Fit Me Foundation as a concealer and working this under my eyes to cancel out any dark circles. I’m the applying the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara and the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara to my upper and lower lashes.

I’m then applying the same eyeshadow from my Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette that I applied to my inner corners and used it as my face highlight. I decided not to contour but highlighted anyways to keep the look glowy.

Lastly, I’m applying the Buxom Full On Lipstick in ‘Brooklynn’ to my lips for a long lasting color.

Well, that’s it for today’s look! I hope you all enjoyed this post. If you like this style of makeup tutorials please let me know, I appreciate any and all feedback. Also, if you guys are interested in me making a YouTube channel for makeup tutorials let me know below! I aim to please, thank you all for reading. I hope you have a wonderful day. Finding Yourself

Trusting God’s Plan

I know that many of you are probably going through some stuff right now, and that sometimes makes it hard to put your faith in the Lord’s hands. Trusting God’s plan is something scary, so today I decided to round up ten Bible verses that really speak to me and help remind me that there IS a light at the end of the tunnel. I hope you guys enjoy these verses as much as me. Remember that God’s love for you is absolutely endless and His path for you is greater than anything you could plan yourself. Wishing you all the best today and all the days to come. With love, McKenz.

Isaiah 60:22- When the time is right, I, the Lord will make it happen.

Isaiah 49:23- She who trusts in the Lord, will never be disappointed.

Psalm 56:3- When I am afraid, I will trust in you.

Psalm 37:4- Delight yourself in the lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Psalm 118:6- I will not be afraid, because the Lord is with me.

Proverbs 4:13- Take hold of my instructions; don’t let them go. Guard them, for they are the key to my life.

2 Corinthians 12:10- When you’ve done everything you can do, that’s when God will step in and do what you can’t do.

John 13:7-  Jesus replied, “You don’t understand what I’m doing now, but someday you will.

Proverbs 3:5- Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and He will make your paths straight.

Philippians 4:4-7- Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

TBH What We Actually Wear

Yes, the truth is I love to dress up. I love to wake up every morning and put on makeup, lace up my sandals, and put on a cute outfit. But reality is, that’s not ALWAYS me. My friends and I adventure, sometimes that requires a t-shirt ans sneakers. My friends ad I play sports, sometimes that requires a sports bra and running shorts. My friends and I go out, sometimes that requires a fancy top, and heels. Sometimes my friends and I hang around the house, and that requires jeans and a tee. My point is, I’m not always put together with my hair done up, and my eyelashes coated in mascara.  And that’s okay. I’m a teenager and in the midst of a normal high school life. Here are some pictures of my friends and I in our day to day life, among many different occasions. So, to be honest; this is me. Styledbymckenz is me in its entirety. This is my life and I can not thank you enough for joining me on this journey. With a whole lot of love, McKenz.

Summer Essentials

Hi friends, I hop you’re having the best day. Aside from Fall, Summer has to be my favorite season. I know I’m not the only one which is why today I wanted to share with you all my Summer fashion essentials. I’m going to be sharing some of my favorite clothes, shoes, and accessories. Along with that I also want to share with you the book “Just Friends” by Billy Taylor. It’s a beautiful love story about two college students and is a perfect beach book id you’re looking for one. Anyways, let’s get on into my Summer essentials!

My Summer’s don’t always require me to get all fancied up, so a simple tee and jean shorts are appropriate for most of my days. I adore stripes because they look perfect with anything, a white tank top is my absolute favorite clothing piece. This one’s from Forever 21 and looks perfect with shorts or jeans. Yellow is my favorite color, as it’s sunny color makes me so happy. I love wearing yellow in the summer, it’s the best.

My current favorite shoes are Chacos and lace up sandals. Chacos are fit for all of my adventures and perfect when I know my toes are going o get wet. I have a habit of spending too much money on Target sandals… oops. This tan, lace up pair look super boho chic, which I’m currently loving.

I love hats so much! This ‘happy, blessed, thankful’ one is a custom order from Hunter&Honey. Check out their Facebook page for more items like this one! My large Longchamp is perfect for everything. I can use it for traveling, the pool, and shopping. It’s so worth the investment.

The Dollar Store is the best place to get sunglasses. Why?  You may ask. Well that’s because I always misplace them or scratch them up. So spending a dollar every Summer is so much more convenient. My rose gold watch has been on repeat this whole Summer, it’s from Target and is adorable. I love my Boho Betty bracelet is one of my favorites, go to their website and type in the code ‘styledbymckenz’ for 20% off your order.
