Contour Routine/Tutorial

Hello friends and happy Thursday. It has been more than chaotic the past few days here. I would sit and chat about it but I’m sure you’ll hear about it all in Sunday’s Weekly Wrap Up. Today I wanted to post a contour routine/tutorial; as it is one of my most requested posts from my friends and family! I go in depth as to how I contour and which products I use. So without further ado, let’s get started…

Starting off your makeup with a fresh, clean, moisturized face is so important. I use the Cetaphil cleanser and the Cerave moisturizer before doing my makeup. I then prime with the Nivea men’s Shave Balm to ensure my makeup stays all day.

I prefer to do all of my makeup, leaving contouring and highlighting for the very last with the exception of lips. I find that once all of my makeup is done, I have a clear view of how much makeup I already have on my face, as well as how heavy of a contour will look good.

To contour I tend to reach for my Anastasia contour Kit ($42 from Ulta or Sephora) and apply with my Elf Bronzing Brush ($1 from local drugstore). I start by applying product to my brush and sucking my cheeks in to form a “fish” face. Afterwards, I follow where my face naturally draws in and the tops of my ears to estimate exactly where I should contour. I then work the product into my temples, focusing the product farthest away from my lips and slowly working it down about an inch from the corners of my lips. I then slim down my nose by swiping product along the sides of my nose in a straight line and then another one horizontally towards the tip of my nose to keep my nose from looking more elongated.

I tend to contour 4 out of 5 days throughout the school week. If I’ve learned one thing from makeup, it’s that practice makes perfect!!! So keep trying and you will eventually master the art of contouring. feel free to search up any Youtube tutorials to get a  better idea! I hope you enjoyed hearing about my makeup routine.

If you have any questions, comments, or requests please leave them below. If you missed my recent posts: Weekly Wrap Up #23, 15th Birthday Haul, Nivea Men’s Shave Balm Review. Thank you so much for all the love and support, sending lots of love your way! With love, McKenz.

Nivea Shave Balm Primer Review & Pictures

A few weeks ago I purchased the Nivea Men Post Shave Balm from Walmart for $7.00 I was hearing so many good things about this product and since my Elf Mineral Face Primer hadn’t been satisfying all my needs, I decided that it was time to try out something new. The Nivea Shave Balm acts as a perfect face primer due to the glycerol in it which creates a tacky base, keeping your makeup in place all day. The smell is heavenly, I would describe it as musky and very Abercrombie like. It’s 3.3 ounces which is enough to do your makeup literally over 100 times. I think it’s the perfect primer and I will definitely be repurchasing.

Here’s a picture of my makeup at 3 pm: approximately eight and a half hours after I applied it. Keep in mind I am fifteen years old so my everyday routine within that time is sitting in school, riding the humid bus to and from school, and eating lunch outside under the sun. I’d say it does the job as well as it gets.

Anyways, I really wanted to share my thoughts with you. The price is right, you can purchase it from any drug store, and it gets the job done which is why I wanted to tell you all to go out and get you some !!! Thank you all so much for reading, don’t forget to check out my latest posts, Weekly Wrap Up #23 and 15th Birthday Haul. 15th Birthday Haul

Hi friends, happy Monday! Many of you probably know that a couple weeks ago I celebrated my fifteenth birthday. Today I decided to share with you some of the presents I received. I am so thankful or all the people that shared this day with me and thought of me. By no means am I trying to brag, I just thought it would be fun to share with you some of the things I received! So without further ado, let’s get into the haul!

If you know me, you know I’m an absolute shoe hoarder. Whether it’s Christmas, my birthday, or any other occasion where you might possibly receive a gift, I probably asked for a pair of shoes. So these shoes are a combination of gifts from my sister, parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and myself lol. The top two pairs of sandals are from Target. I’m still all for anything that laces up my ankles so I got the cognac pair for more boho outfits and the silverish pair for more chic, classy outfits.  Call us crazy, but my sister and I haven’t gotten one another a birthday or Christmas gift in years so this year we decided to buy each other a pair of Converse. I decided on a pair of maroon ones since it’s the color I tend to wear the most all year round. Last summer I searched for these rainbow flip flops everywhere, I couldn’t find them in my size so I gave up. Luckily when my birthday rolled around I had the bright idea of ordering them off of Amazon so that’s what I did. they are so cute and comfortable so they’re perfect to just throw on and head out the door. Everyone and the mother seems to own white high top converse, so it was my turn to hop on the bandwagon and I don;t regret it even for a second. Lastly, my Chacos!!! Chacos are a huge thing in the South and I have always wanted a pair to bring with me to Wisconsin in the Summer. So I decided to go for it, I’m so excited to wear these fishing, hiking, and walking around!

Besides all the shoes, my gift from my parents absolutely dropped my jaw. I’ve wanted a navy Longchamp for a few years now and my parents were the absolute best and gave me a navy size large. I’ve already used it a ton and am so happy to have a tote that is perfect for literally everything. I got a few  bathing suits and some Dunkin gift cards which is the equivalent to being rich in high school ;).

Anyways that is it for today’s post. I will be trying to do a look-book or some outfit ideas with all those shoes if you all would be interested in seeing that, thank you so much for stopping by and reading. Check out my last post here, follow me on Instagram here, and don’t forget to subscribe! Wishing you so much happiness today. With love, McKenz.

Cheer tryouts were in full swing which left me a chaotic mess, luckily the stressful week was worth it because your girl made Varsity two years in a row! The end of he school year is right around the corner which means teachers are cramming in the last few lessons and slamming us with tests, so my apologies if the posts slow down due to exams. I’m so so so excited for summer to be here agh! Luckily, in the midst of all this I have found some awesome verses from Hebrews 9 and 10 which I touch on a bit below. Let me know if you like faith posts here on the blog because I’d be happy to do more!
